I know, I know. Someday I will post about something that doesn't involve BYU sports, and maybe (just maybe) it will not involve sports at all. But until then.......
So Jeff and Jenny and their kids were up here last week and Jeff really wanted to go to the BYU football game. On Friday they got a call from Jenny's brother saying that they had some extra tickets to the game and wanted to know if we wanted them. Well these tickets are not the student nosebleed tickets that we have. They were cougar club tickets, and good ones. So because it is my birthday tomorrow and Jeff's today they decide to let us use the tickets. Then it ended up that there were enough that Jeff, little Jeffrey, Josh, me, Seth, and three of Jenny's brothers all got to go. Let me tell you how game day went.
First, we got to the game an hour and a half early and they gave us a full meal in the cougar room in the stadium. And it was good! They had the best chicken in the world, different kinds of pasta, roast beef, all types of cheeses, fruits, and vegetables. During this time they also ask you what your three favorite candy bars, and sodas are so that they can get it ready for half time.
After we ate dinner they gave us passes so that we could go on the field during warmups. We actually even got to catch some touchdown passes in the endzone as long as we avoided NMSU players. It was SO FUN!
Here is the group of us at the game!
Josh and I on the field!
Yes, I caught that pass. It is almost like Jonny Harline catching John Beck's pass to beat Utah. It was pretty cool!
Seth catching the ball. Ruling on the field was he was out of bounds but after video replay the play was overturned and it is a touchdown.
TOUCHDOWN KUHN!!!!
Then we got to our seats and they are on the 50 yard line. They also have bags of that have water, a candy bar, and coupons to get free hot chocolate. We enjoyed the game immensely.
During half-time we got to go back to the cougar room, they printed out the stats and gave them to us, they had desserts and hot dogs and brats, and hot chocolate while we watched highlights from other games around the country. They gave us the bags with our candy bars and drinks to take back to our seats. When little Jeffrey pulled out his kit-kat bar he was in shock. His face was full of surprise. He was expecting one of those bite-size candy bars, but they gave us the King-size candy bar. Jeffrey just started laughing. It was so CUTE!
Overall the game was great! (oh and we won the game 42-7) I could definitely get used to living that lifestyle, but it might be awhile until we have that kind of money. If anyone is ever wondering what to do with Cougar Club tickets, I am happy to find people to use them!
