July 13

Dear Family,

Missionary work is awesome!!!!!! This week we saw a complete change in Sasa and Jitka. Tuesday we had a meeting set up with Jitka at the building. Well she didn't show. I was really frustrated because we have been trying to use members effectively with her, but whenever we find a member to do a meeting with us she seems to cancel on us. I was a little frustrated with her. So we called and set up with her and Sasa for Friday at their place. On Friday we walked into their house and I could immediately feel the difference in their apartment. We didn't know what we really wanted to do with them, but we had decided to start over again with the restoration. We watched the Restoration movie because Sasa hadn't seen it. They felt the spirit so strong. It was incredible. Before we even asked about them coming to church on Sunday Jitka said she was coming and Sasa said he couldn't because of a previous commitment. Then Jitka wanted us to call her on Sunday morning so that she would be sure to be there. I don't know how everything will work out because both Jitka and Sasa have concerns that they need to work through, but they are definitely more willing to listen to the spirit and learn from it. I am so grateful.

This week has also been an interesting week for us because several of our investigators couldn't meet with us all week. This gave us time that we could go out finding. The Lord blessed us so much. As we continued to work hard even when it was hard, we found that the Lord blessed us. He helped us find the people that he had prepared to listen to the gospel.

Then we have Stan. We met stan a couple weeks ago and is doing very well. He began is meetings with us by telling us that he is looking for something but he doesn't know what it is, he only knows that it is not God. Then in the same breath he tells us that he will read and pray. Then about 10 days ago he told us he couldn't come to church because he was going to be out of town for the next to weeks. Well last Sunday and yesterday he texted us on Sunday morning and said he was able to change his travel plans so that he could come to church. So we didn't meet with him last week but he did come to church last Sunday and this Sunday. And the wonderful thing is that the members have really taken to him. We only talked to him at church a little bit because he was always talking to members. It was great. I know that members are so important to help an investigator progress.

Today we went to Terazin. It is town about an hour from Prague that was basically a concentration camp when the Nazi's took over the Czech Repbulic. It was more of a camp for important people and for children, then it was a work camp. So they didn't have the gas chambers, but it was still really enlightening. The Czech Republic has so much history. In Terazin there were at least 35,000 people that died there. During the war about 180,000 people cycled through it and of the 180,000 only about 30,000 lived to the end of the war. It was so sad. It was an amazing experience to go to.

And family, I am supposed to thank you for being great member missionaries. I talked to Elder Barker in Brno on Saturday. He said that Kamila is doing great and that she and her mother were both planning on coming to church on sunday. He wanted me to thank you for your help in getting her in contact with the missionaries.

I am so excited for the next week of missionary work!!!! I love you so much!!!!

Love,
Sestra Hill
