What a week!!!!!
This has been a week of miracles. I will tell you about the biggest one that happened. Last Sunday a man named Mirek showed up at church. He has many health problems. He can only walk with crutches and his speach is very slurred. But he is very smart. Apparently he has been an off and on investigator for the last several years. His problem was that he came to most of the appointments drunk and then wouldn't have contact with the missionaries for awhile. Well he came to church, because he needed food. He doesn't have a job because of his physical disabilities and didn't have any food. So we arranged to shop for him and take him food on Monday. We took him food and he asked if he could meet with us to learn more about the gospel. We met with him twice this week and the last time we asked him to be baptized. He thought about it and said Yes!!!!!! So his baptismal date is set for April 4. He is someone that could definitely use your prayers. To pray that Mirek can overcome his word of wisdom problems.
Well, this week was also a week of miracles because of how much has been accomplished. The members here in Uherske Hradiste are amazing. The goal for the the mission is to teach 4 lessons with members present a week. Well this week we taught 12! That is amazing! The Lord really is doing a marvelous work here. Our struggle seems to be getting our investigators to come to church. They want to meet with us and read the book of mormon, but they don't want to commit to come to church. We are working with them on that.
Another miracle happened on Saturday night. All week the mission has been focusing on finding new investigators. We have been teaching so much that we hadn't really had time in the week to find. So after we had sports day we went tracting. So it was Saturday night at 6:45. We got into a panalok, which was a miracle by itself, and we started tracting. We weren't sure how it would go because lots of families start putting there kids to bed around 7:00-7:30. Well the fifth door we rang, we taught a lesson on the spot, the 13th door we rang we taught a lesson on the spot, and the 17th door we rang, we taught a lesson on the spot. In an hour and 15 minutes we taught 3 lessons on the spot. It really was a miracle. So we found 3 new investigators (the goal for the week) in an hour and 15 minutes. The Lord is amazing.
Well I told you last week about Dan, the man who attended the UofU. Well we met with him this week and we found out that he really is a anti. He tried to convince us that Joseph Smith was a thief, liar, and evil man, That the Book of Mormon is evil, and that the idea that there is a prophet on the earth is crazy. Then he told us about how he was friends with Mark Haufman (sp) in SLC back when he was forging the Salamander Letter. It was crazy. But don't worry, his tactics didn't work. I still have a testimony.
Well I have to run. I love you all.
Abby, congrats on the new baby.
